I heard wind that there was a reeeeeally good ketchup recipe on this website, so having run out of the standard store bought stuff, I followed the "Your Hobby Farm" recipe.
Oh my goodness. I LOVE ketchup to start with, but have never made it for myself. THIS recipe is so amazing, so rich, tart yet with a hint of sweetness. I just LOVE it!!
It seems to me to be more than just ketchup. There is a magic about it; like you could use it to complement all sorts of food. I don't usually eat ketchup with eggs, but it was delicious. I can see that this recipe will become a standard in my kitchen, and with slight tweaking, I will be able to make a terrific pizza sauce. Mix with mayo, and voila - 1000 Island Dressing.
